My Progress for my FMP
My project is going pretty well. The research is good because I am finding a lot of information that will help me with my FMP. Today I presented my pecha kucha and I think it went well. Now I will focus on my FMP website and magazine and I am going to do more research.
I have uploaded my mindmap and my plan this will help me having an idea of what to do
My final production of the website.

FMP Evaluation
1. What was your initial concept for your final project and what were the reasons behind your choices? What were you trying to achieve in making your final product? What message were you trying to give? Who were you targeting with your final product and of what relevance is your project to an audience? What specialism have you followed, games, film, print, web etc? How would this help you progress onto further study or into work? Is it a project that you have passion about?
So my initial concept was about students' identity in Stanmore college . I wanted to present this idea in a website or magazine. My second idea was to describe the Swedish identity. So I decided to create a website about Swedish identity because I am from Sweden and I know a lot about Sweden and Swedish history. I love Sweden and choosing Sweden/ Swedish identity to create an FMP about was a great idea because when I love something I do it with passion. For my final production I am trying to educate people about Sweden and the history of Sweden which includes food, dances, tradition, currency and much more.
I am trying to show that Sweden isn’t just a normal boating country, I am trying to show that there is a lot to do in Sweden and to never be afraid to experience new countries and new cultures. I am also trying to show the unique ideas that Sweden has made into reality just like recycling where you can earn money and much more. My product is suitable for all genders and ages but the targeted age I think is between the ages 16-25. This could help the young people in many subjects in school such as history. So for my website I've used information from games and websites. One game that I've used information from is the visit Sweden App and I've used the Swedish embassy website which helped me with the website design and colors.
Research has helped me to understand the amount of information there is on the internet so I have to be specific with what I chose and choosing different types of research platforms is also important. Instead of only using websites I can use apps that contain a lot of information. I have a lot of passion for this project because its about sweden an i love and know alot about Sweden.
2. How has your research and planning helped you develop your final project? What kinds of research have you done? Primary, secondary, audience, professional products etc? How have you researched your audience? What characteristics and conventions of named professional products have you identified and how did you use these? How well did you plan your product? How well did you manage your time?
So at the Beginning of the project I was not sure whether to create a website, magazine or website but when I did research I saw that A website can hold alot of information and is more clear for the audience to understand the content. It's easier to read a lot in a website and my idea was educational and education is usually taught by a website. I've done primary, secondary and audience research. For my primary research I've interviewed people from Sweden that speak Swedish and I've asked them questions regarding Sweden and life there. For my secondary research I've done research on websites and apps about sweden. i've also had a look at articles about Sweden which has helped me find more information. I've only done a little research about the target audience because I already have a lot of knowledge about my target audience.
But from my research the people that will use the information that i will provide are young people that go to school/college/university. For planing my product i was fine at the beginning and everything was on time. I've also created a timetable that tells what I should do on what date but at the end of it i did not follow it due to sickness.
3. Who would be the audience for your media product? Who is the audience for your product? What are their demographic characteristics? What do they think of your media product?
My product is suitable for all genders and ages but the targeted age I think is between the ages 16-25. This could help the young people in many subjects in school such as history. I think this age will see this as important and interesting information because they are both learning interesting facts with a valid source and they can also use it in school work
4. How did you attract/address your audience? What specific techniques did you use to target/attract your audience? How did you manipulate representations in your product to target your audience? How did you select content to appeal to your audience? How did you use design to attract your audience?
I attract/address them for example by mentioning their favorite artist that is from Sweden or use information that they really need for their work. I could even mention names and create interviews so more people will be interested. A recent show happened called the eurovision and the winner of the eurovision this year is Loreen, a Swedish artist that has millions of views and streams from all around the world so I had some information about her to make people more interested because she is very talented and loved by millions.
One thing that I really like with my website is how clear it is and how easy it is to understand it and to use it. I made the design very clean with little colors so it won't be too much. I tried to use sans serif font to make it easier for the audience to read the information. and I used simple pages with less text. The images are mostly speaking for themselves. I placed the images in different places and adjusted the size of the images and the text to make it less boring.
5. What contextual issues have you considered when creating this product? Consider the historical, social, economic, geographical and/or political connections to your media product. How does it raise awareness or have relevance to these aspects? Were there any related problems you faced?
6. How does your product conform or challenge media theories and conventions? Does your product match conventions of media elements? Does it challenge them? How does it relate to media theories you have encountered?
My product challenges most of the media theories and websites for a few simple reasons. 1 My information is easy to find and is designed in a way where all kinds of people can understand, including people with disabilities. 2. My information is all true and based on facts from people that have actually lived in Sweden. I summarise the information I find and use the most important information that way people won't have to read paragraph after paragraphs. 3.most of the information on the internet is either fake or outdated. My information is real and always updated with news and information.
7. What have you learnt about media technologies from the process of constructing this product? What ranges of technologies were available and what hardware and what software did you use? How difficult/easy are they to use? What problems did you encounter? How have your skills developed across this project and across the year?
I've learned that I should always keep the information short and sweet and keep it in the middle of the website so it won't be too long that it goes down at the end of the phone/computer screen . I will alway keep the images and the text in the middle of the screen so it will catch the viewer's eye. So I mainly used wix for this project because I am comfortable with using wix due to experience from work before. Wix is an awesome website where I can create websites about everything. There are many tools to use in Wix. It's very easy to use and has many options.
There are many technologies that are impressive. I can also design the background of my website, wix have varieties of designs that I can use for my website. Wix was very easy to use in many ways but there was one thing that was a bit annoying which was the images, I can't move the images anywhere I would like or move the text. My website creating skills have developed in so many ways. When I see a website now I will see and analyse it In a different way from what I used to. Before I did not pay attention to the designs, the fonts, the images and much more. website structure is very important and that i've improved on a lot from my last experience.
8. How closely did your final product resemble your initial ideas and expectations?
Does your product match up to your initial idea? How did you develop your initial idea and why?
How successful is the design and content of your final product?
What was unsuccessful in your product?
How might you improve your product if you had more time?
What does your audience feedback tell you about your final product?
My final product resembles my Initial ideas a lot because my idea was to create a website about Sweden and that is what I did. There might be some changes to the platform used because I wanted to create an app before but almost everything resembled my ideas. I’ve used this platform( my website) Because it’s easier to share a lot of information and it’s the quickest thing to do. My idea is to spread information about Sweden and help people in school that will need this information.
Swedes can also be used for tourists, if it's your first time traveling to Sweden you will know a lot about Sweden. I think my design is pretty successful because I am presenting my work in a unique way that will make the audience interested. The work that I've created is simple and will make the viewer interested. I don't think anything was unsuccessful because I created my work with passion. If i had more time i would create an app about Swedish identity that will also include similar information from the website and the app will be linked in the website.
I would also create more interviews to understand the people's perspective about Sweden and the Swedish people. I've asked some classmates about their opinion on my website and they gave me their feedback and liked it and told me that they will use it to learn about Sweden and the Swedish people. From this project I've learned a lot from doing my research and asking people about their opinion. I thought I knew everything but when I started to asked people about their ideas and opinions it was eye opening. I learned a lot by just asking.
